AI Gets Real

Once again, I became really interested in a rapidly emerging area of technology: artificial intelligence, or AI. And, again, my interest was being fed by the fact that I’d been called in to help a new, stealth-mode AI startup. Artificial intelligence wasn’t new by any means at this time. It was just really coming into its own because the “fuel” it required — massive amounts of data — was being greatly accelerated by the revolution going on in Big Data technology. Soon, my next Flipboard magazine was born, this in early 2017: AI Gets Real – “How Artificial Intelligence Is Improving Our Lives Today.” None of this scare-tactic stuff that AI was going to take over humankind! Or threaten workers in so many ways, take away countless jobs, blah, blah, blah. That was all just so much noise coming out of the “lamestream media”!
