Reflections & Analysis About Innovation, Technology, and Startups

Graeme Thickins On Tech blog imageThose are the words I chose to describe my tech blog, Graeme Thickins On Tech, which I launched in 2005. Over those dozen years, I’ve written some 650 posts. All told, those would total up to something close to 1,000,000 words. Yes, a million! What have I learned? To say a ton would be an understatement! It’s been an honor and a privilege to get to know so many great people in the startup and technology business, whom I’ve interviewed and learned so much from over all these years.

One way to analyze this blog is to look at the number of “Post Categories” I have on it: I was amazed to count them up and find they number 102.That’s how the blog is indexed. (Many individual posts, of course, are indexed in multiple categories.) The posts I am perhaps most proud of are in these three categories: Startups, Entrepreneurship, and VCs/Angels/M&A. That latter one includes not only stories about startups raising funds, but also being successfully acquired: the big payoff.

As I look back over these 12 years, it’s amazing the breadth of tech innovations I’ve been able to witness (and work within myself in many cases), and the technology cycles that have occurred during that time. But the best part of all? That would be the great stories of entrepreneurs and founding teams who’ve dreamed of big things, really made an impact on our world, improved lives, and built some extraordinary shareholder wealth while doing so.

I of course hope to continue posting stories on this blog as I continue to work with talented and committed entrepreneurs, and the very strong network and startup support ecosystem I have been able to build and leverage in my career as a consultant, advisor, mentor, and coach.
